| Alpha gypsum | A type III gypsum hemihidrate, which is also known as dental stone. When set this makes very strong moulds. The compressive strength is greater than 35 MPa. | Basalt fibre | Basalt fibre is used in composties to provide flexural strength. Uses: It's often used in concrete. it doesn't degrade in the alkaline conditions that occur in concrete unlike normal glass fibre. also, most polymer fibres only give strength in the drying stages of the concrete whereas basalt fibre continues to give strength. also, unlike steel fibre, basalt fibre doesn't corrode. Group: Chemicals. Grades: 5, 12 and 24 mm lengths as well as roving. Each comes in several grades with different sizing. Molecular formula: Various grades are available. | Basalt rebar | Used where steel rebar is used, but unlike steel basalt rebar doesn't corode. Uses: Basalt fibre doesn't corode and is very much lighter in weight than steel rebar. one example of a benefit of this is that it can be placed closer to the surface of the concrete and this provides more bending strength. | Calcium sulphoaluminate cement | This grade of Calcium Sulphoaluminate cement is known as Ali Pre. It is the only CSA globally that has an Environmental Protection Declaration (EPD) which is because a significant component is made with recycled material. It's manufactured in Italy by one of the global giants in cements - Heidelberg Cement. It's main use is to provide fast setting systems. Group: Chemicals. Alternative Names: CSA. | CSA Expansion Binder | CSA Expansion Binder is an expansion agent that decreases drying and autogenous shrinkage in Portland cement dominant concrete systems for concrete slabs on ground, large walls, and concrete repairs. Uses: Portland cement shrinks upon curing, which can casue problems such as cracking. by the use of csa expansion binder this shrinkage can be removed and so a superior system can be made without any loss of strength. | Iron Sand | Iron sand is a type of sand with heavy concentrations of iron. It is typically dark grey or blackish in color. It is composed mainly of magnetite. Uses: This grade or iron sand has very low levels of non-crystalline material, which is a safety benefit in many applications. it's used to create conductive concrete and heavy concrete. it's angular shape and high density make it useful in sand blasting. | poraSpheres | A hollow expanded glass sphere, but which is impermeable to water. Uses: Poraspheres is an expanded glass sphere but importantly it is impermeable to water because it's closed cells. this means that it can be used in water borne systems. also, the internal structure is egg like (it's a shell) which means that it is very light weight. in many ways it's akin to cenospheres, but it's very much lighter in weight. Group: Chemicals. Molecular formula: Made from recylced glass. An alternative to cenospheres. | Poraver | A hollow expanded glass sphere. Uses: For use in products such as concrete, cement based adhesives, adhesives and composites. it provides several benefits. it makes the final composit very much lighter (good for carrying the material but also the final product), it improves the rehological properties when applying it and, somewhat surprisingly, it improves the flexural properties. Group: Chemicals. Grades: The grades are 0.04 - 0.125 mm, 0.1 - 0.3 mm, 0.25 - 0.5 mm and 1 - 2 mm. Each grade comes in small bags and big bags.
