Aloe Vera [200:1] Powder - Fruit & Herbal Powder Extracts (Bulk) This is a 200:1 powdered aloe which means that to re-constitute it so that it is a single strength Aloe Liquid you need to add only 0.5g of Aloe Powder to 99.5g of Water (0.5% to 99.5%). The Aloe Powder will completely dissolve into water but will not form a gel. This is because the pulverising and powder processing breaks up the complex sugar chains into smaller chain lengths that can no longer form a gel. This does not impact in the performance of the Aloe in your product though as the minerals and moisturising properties remain. To thicken your Aloe Water we recommend adding something like Xanthan Gum, Carrageenan, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose or Carbomer. These thickeners will swell in water to form a gel-like base that can then be used as a facial serum base or just as a soothing Aloe Gel. Otherwise we do sell a ready-made aloe gel. In addition to thickning the Aloe Water the water will also need preserving. We have a range of preservatives available to suit a wide range of ingredient philosophies and product asperations. Use Level: Typically re-constituted at 0.5% in water but can be used at any level between 0.05-5%. Solubility: Fully water soluble with no residue. Forms a colourless, water-thin solution when re-hydrated. Compatibility: Generally compatible with most other actives, can be too salty for some emulsions and can cause creams to become destabilised in some cases. We do recommend stability testing when replacing regular water for reconstituted aloe water in a formula. Please Note: These products are for cosmetic use only and not to be consumed. Group: Extracts. Alternative Names: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Aqua. EINECS: 287-390-8, 231-791-2. CAS No. 85507-69-3, 7732-18-5. Caffeine Anhydrous BP/USP (Bulk) WARNING: Concentrated caffeine powder should be stored well away from food preparation areas to avoid accidental ingestion. Ingestion of caffeine powder can cause heart failure. Our Caffeine powder is a synthetic caffeine of high purity for cosmetic use. Solubility: Water soluble. Appearance: white powder. Benefits: It boosts cellular energy. Is able to penetrate the skin. It may assist in removing damaged skin. Recommendations: It may be useful in anti-ageing and slimming. Applications: There have been various studies looking at caffeine in skin care using doses up to 5% but we recommend using between 0.1-0.5% in topical products due to the fact that high levels of caffeine can have a dehydrating effect on the skin and as such any benefits from using the caffeine may start to be lost. Notes on dermal penetration: Caffeine can penetrate the skin and clinical trials commonly record penetration into the blood stream of between 2-10% of the applied dose. How much caffeine is absorbed depends on the base formula, the dose you use and the site you apply it to. Follicular delivery is effective and is why many people add Caffeine to hair care formulations.. Group: Active. Alternative Names: Caffeine. EINECS: 200-362-1. CAS No. 58-08-2. Pack Sizes: 1.5kg. Product ID: RMAACAFFANHY. Cautions: Not to be used in products for children. Be cautious when using during pregnancy. Coconut Refined Certified Organic Vegetable Oil - ACO 10282P Botanical Name: Cocos nucifera. Extraction Method: Cold Pressed. Quality: Our coconut oil is refined, bleached and deordorised (RBD) using physical, rather than chemical processes. While some brands prefer 'complete' oils, removing or reducing the odour and/or colour does give a higher level of aesthetic flexibility when formulating and also tends to further improve the stability of the oil. Description: Coconut oil switches between solid and liquid at room temperature (21-25C). The oil is used to lubricate the skin and condition the hair. Coconut is a preferred oil for high quality cold-process soapers as it is a 'hard' oil on account of its chemistry, being majority saturated fats which are also very stable. Color: White to Off White. Aromatic Description: This oil has been deodorised but it may still have a very slight coconut scent. Common Uses: Coconut is the preferred oil for both the soap making and cosmetic manufacturing industries. Consistency: Solid at room temperatures. Gentle heating is required. Absorption: Coconut creates an oily, protective barrier on the skin. Group: Certified organic vegetable oils. Alternative Names: Cocos Nucifera Oil *. EINECS: 232-282-8. CAS No. 8001-31-8. Davidsons Plum Powder - Australian Native Extract (Bulk) Davidson's Plum is a rainforest tree found in Queensland and Northern NSW that bears dark purple fruit with vibrant red flesh. This fruit is high in the anthocyanin group of anti-oxidants and polysaccharides which provide anti-ageing benefits and significant hydration for the skin. The phytochemicals in this extract are freeze dried after harvesting to maintain their efficacy and freshness. Botanical Name: Davidsona pruriens. Common Name: Davidson's Plum. Traditional Name: Ooray (Yirrganydji people of Northern Queensland who speak Djabugay language). Powdered Extract Strength: 10:1. Appearance: this is a dark purple powdered extract that has a high but incomplete solubility in water. This means that it is best to hydrate and filter this before adding it to your cosmetic product. Applications: Use as an active ingredient in skincare products. Particularly well suited for anti-ageing products. Usage Instructions: The powder is 10 times stronger than the fresh fruit so to make a re-constituted fruit juice you would need a mix of 10% powder into 90% demineralised water + preservative (for maintaining the freshness). The powder is highly water soluble but it is always a good idea to filter any extracts before using them in a finished product to remove any solids or un-dissolved powder. Group: Extracts. Alternative Names: Davidsonia Jerseyana Fruit Extract. EINECS: 920-206-2 [ECHA]. CAS No. 1174401-42-3. Pack Sizes: 15G; 100G; 500G; 1KG; 5KG and above upon request. Product ID: EXANDAVIPLUM. If you do make a reconstituted liquid as per above, we recommend using this in your product at anything from 1-50% of your formula. If you want to go ahead and add the powder directly to your formula you could use it at between 0.1-5% but do remember that it required moisture to rehydrate and so will not mix into an oil based product. It can be added dry to powdered clay masks or colour cosmetics if you wish. New Directions Australia

Desert Lime Powder - Australian Native Extract (Bulk) Desert Lime is a highly resilient citrus crop typical of Australian native botanicals, tolerating extremes of drought, heat and cold. The fruit is both farmed and wild harvested here in Australia. Wild Harvest locations exist in Southwest Queensland, Northwest NSW, North Coast NSW. Farms are located in the Riverlands of South Australia, Inland Queensland around Roma, North Coast NSW and Southern Queensland. This sour fruit contains high levels of phenolic antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin E and trace minerals making it perfect for anti-ageing skin care applications. Form: Fine green powder with a sharp, slightly sour aroma. Solubility: This extract is not completely water soluble but it will form a tincture in warm water and this can then be filtered and used in your cosmetic product. We suggest making a 20% active solution by mixing 20g of powder into 80g of hot water and steeping until the colour change is complete. The mixture is then filtered and preserved if you plan to store it for future use. Be sure to check and adjust the pH if needed. Strength: Not defined. Use Level: As supplied typical use levels are between 0.1-5%. As a 20% solution this would equate to 0.5-25%. Group: Extracts. Alternative Names: Citrus Glauca Fruit Extract. Green French Clay (Bulk) A conditioning and nourishing clay for all skin types. Green French Clay is especially useful in formulas for sebum control. Great for face and body masks. Green French Clay has a mixed mineral origin: Kaolinite or kaolin clays can be coloured if the surrounding soil is rich in minerals. Some of these minerals have beneficial properties for the skin while others don't so much. All Kaolinites are reasonably good drawing agents as they pull toxins from the skin. Kaolin is often used as a base for clay masks due to it being well tolerated by most people. Illite is a mica type mineral occurring in argillaceous sediments with Illite being a general term for the clay minerals from this type of sediment. Argillaceous minerals appear silver-like due to their fine grain structure and trace metal constituent. Montmorillonite is a very soft phyllosilicate (silicate minerals making up 90% of the crust of the earth based on silicone and oxygen) that forms in microscopic crystals. These clays swell in water and can be used to thicken and stabilise emulsions. This clay will swell a little in water. 100% natural mineral which is allowed to be used in COSMOS formulas. Manufacturing Process: The clay undergoes a mechanical treatment, without any chemical process. It is crushed and dried. Formulation Tips: 5 - 40% in masks. Blends well with other clays. For best results, wet into the water phase prior to the addition of thickeners or oil phase. Can be added to a finished emulsion with good homogenisation. Homogenisation is recommended. Group: Clay. Hyaluronic Acid 1% Liquid (Bulk) Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally in the body and generally decreases with age. In the skin it exists in the epidermis and keeps the skin hydrated and supple due to its high water retention ability. As we age our production naturally decreases and we begin to notice alterations in our skin such as wrinkling or dry skin. A product containing Hyaluronic Acid would be beneficial for mature or dry skin to help restore smoothness and elasticity of the skin. Please note that there are two main sources of Hyaluronic acid the first being animal extracted (from Rooster Combs typically) and the second being bacterial fermentation. Our material is from bacterial fermentation using glucose that is corn derived to create the hyaluronic acid in a biofermentation process. The product is still classified as natural and used in natural and organic cosmetic manufacturing. Our Liquid is at 1% active for ease of addition into your finished skin care as an alternative to the powder for ease of manufacturing - the powder can be difficult to hydrate as it tends to form clumps if it isn't mixed at high speed. Use between 1-100% of the ingredient to give a Hyaluronic acid content in your product of 0.01-1%. Hyaluronic acid is highly effective as a humectant (water binding agent) so it isn't necessary to use a high percentage if you don't want to. The ingredient can be used directly on the skin if required. Group: Active. Alternative Names: Aqua, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin. Kangaroo Paw Powder - Australian Native Extract (Bulk) Kangaroo paw is a plant that got its common name because of the shape of its flowers, this isn't animal derived! Naturally this plant grows around the South-West corner of Western Australia. The Noongar people call this 'Yonga Marr Wer'. The flower is the emblem of Western Australia and is greatly loved by native birds and animals who find nourishment in its nectar. In an attempt to become less pallatable to larger animals the plant has developed little hairs on its flowers to make grazing on them less palatable. The upside of this for birds and smaller mamals is that these hairs trap moisture thus making the plant even more appealing to pollinators. Kangaroo Paw Extract can be used in a wide range of cosmetic products including hair care. It is a natural source of Ferulic acid, a powerful antioxidant for anti-aging and environmental protection. It also contains natural sugars and fibers which can help trap moisture on the skin and hair for long-lasting hydration and skin conditioning. Appearance: Fine powder, pink/purple colouration that turns fluffy and a little thicker on hydration. The powder has a light woody scent. Extract Preparation: Freeze dried after picking to preserve the phytochemical integrity. Activity: This powdered extract has no nominated concentration ratio. Use Levels: You are best to hydrate this extract in water by taking 20% powder to 80% water and then filtering out any undissolved solids. Check pH and add preservative if you are making up a stock batch and storing it for future use. This solution can then be used in your formula at 1-10%. If you want to add the powder directly to your cosmetic product be aware that it will not all dissolve. Adding 0.2-2% of the dried powder is a recommended dose. ... Group: Extracts. Kaolin White Australian Clay (Bulk) Kaolin is a widely used clay for cosmetic purposes. It won't swell or thicken in water like bentonite clay does so it does require suspending in a water-based product using either a thickening gel agent or an emulsifier. Kaolin is commonly used as the base for clay masks where it provides good coverage and drying capacity. It it common to use Kaolin as a base clay and then add specialist, more active clays over the top of this to provide the activity. Use Levels: 0.5-50% Typically but can be applied to the skin in any concentration once wetted. Precautions: While kaolin is a dry ingredient it can still harbour micro spores and mould spores can be quite common as they are ubiquitous in the air. When adding clay to a cream or water-containing product it is wise to re-evaluate your preservative efficacy and, if needed, increase the preservative dose or change to a faster acting system. The only 100% reliable way to know if your preservative system is working for you is to run Preservative Efficacy Testing or a Micro Count. These tests can be carried out in a micro testing laboratory and should form part of your product R&D budget. Group: Clay. Alternative Names: Kaolin, Aqua. EINECS: 310-194-1, 231-791-2.
