| Calcium Aluminate Cements (CAC) | Calcium Aluminate Cement (CAC) imparts rapid hardening, high early strength, biogenic corrosion resistance, and refractory properties, whether used independently or as part of binary or ternary systems. With a range of alumina content (40-80% Al2O3), CACs are suitable for various applications including self-levelling compounds, high-strength grouts, ductile iron pipe lining, sewer rehabilitation mortars, and refractory mortars. Bisley offers three grades of CAC: Istra 40, Istra 45, and Istra 50. Manufactured by Calucem under the Istra brand in Croatia, these CACs adhere to European Standard EN196 and are exported globally. Their rapid hardening capabilities and resistance to chemical attack make them versatile for applications in construction chemistry, the pipe and sewer rehabilitation industry, mining, and refractory applications. | Aluminium hydroxide / alumina trihydrate | Aluminium hydroxide, also known as alumina trihydrate, is a white amorphous powder. It is odourless and has low iron content. This material has high heat adsorption and has good thermal stability which can reduce flame propagation in materials. It is produced from bauxite using the Bayer process. Uses: Aluminium hydroxide is used as an additive for shotcrete accelerators of Portland cement systems, and as a flame retardant in plastics, rubber and other engineered materials. | Cenospheres | Cenospheres, also known as Hollow Ceramic Microspheres, are thin walled hollow ceramic spheres with a diversity of applications. Composed principally of silica and alumina, and sized typically below 300 microns, Cenospheres are characterised by low bulk density, high melting point, high strength, and uniform sphericity. In cementitious systems, sealants, and putties Cenospheres can be used to modify rheology, reduce weight and shrinkage and improve thermal insulation. In composites and other polymer applications, Cenospheres reduce resin demand, and improve impact resistance and strength. Specialised Cenospheres grades are available for rigorous application conditions in Refractories and Surface Coatings. Applications for Cenospheres are numerous.
