This liquid, typically a light yellow colour, usually contains a slight odour. Portulaca Extract is developed as a basic ingredient for cosmetics (cleansers, lotions etc), toiletries (shower gels, shampoos etc) and pharmaceuticals (acne treatment etc). Main Effects: Anti-inflammatory. Anti-irritation. Anti- allergy. Hence, making it a prime raw material for assisting in the treatment of burns, skin sores, irritations, insect bites, eczema etc. An extremely effective ingredient in acne treatments. It is also rich in Omega-3 fatty acid which makes it great on dehydrated skin. Recommended Dosage: Between 3.0 - 5.0%. Interesting Fact: Portulaca Oleracea in ancient times was looked upon as one of the anti-magic herbs. It was supposed to protect from evil sprits and if carried was supposed to attract love and luck!! (Lavender & Franklin, 1996).
