| Calcium Aluminate Cements (CAC) | Calcium Aluminate Cement (CAC) imparts rapid hardening, high early strength, biogenic corrosion resistance, and refractory properties, whether used independently or as part of binary or ternary systems. | KLUCEL HPC | ?Klucel hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) is a nonionic water-soluble cellulose ether with a remarkable combination of properties. It combines organic solvent solubility, thermoplasticity and surface activity with the aqueous thickening and stabilizing properties characteristic of other water-soluble cellulose polymers available from Ashland. Klucel HPC films are flexible without plasticizers and non-tacky at high humidity. The wood pulp used in our cellulose products is sourced from suppliers who have implemented zero deforestation business practices, adhering to standards set forth by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), by the Program for the Endorsement Certification (PEFC.), or both. | Plantaserv C (Bulk) | This preservative is chemically similar to our Plantaserv D but it has been produced using a slightly different process which allows it to be used in some certified organic formulations unlike the Plantaserv D. The certifying bodies that have approved this preservative are the OFC, COSMOS and Ecocert. Origin: Plant based. Heat Stability: Relatively good can be added into your product at temperatures up to 80C. Dose Rate: 4% is the maximum amount that can be used. 3-4% is a typical addition rate. pH range: 4.5-5.5 is ideal but we have had success with products that have pH ranges slightly outside of this (3-6). Always be sure to run Preservative Efficacy Testing before settling on your formulation. Microbes Targeted: Broad-Spectrum (Bacteria, Yeast and Mould). Like many natural preservatives, this is slower to act than some of our synthetic options and as such could become overwhelmed in more challenging environments when used as the stand-alone preservative. We recommend an evidence-based approach to optimising your product's preservation strategy and as such advise undertaking stability and micro testing to inform your formulating decisions in this area.
