| Citric Acid | Citric Acid is a weak organic acid. It is a very versatile chemical and as such is used in a variety of sectors but predominantly relating to the Food and Drink industry where it can be used as a chelating agent, flavour, food colouring, acidity regulator and preservative amongst others. It is also used in cleaning, detergents, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. At room temperature it is a white crystalline powder and can exist in either anhydrous form (water free) or as a monohydrate (containing one water molecule). Grades: Anhydrous with a standard mesh size of 10-40 or 40-100. Monohydrate with a standard mesh size of 8-80. Solution in varying strengths from 20% up to 50%. | Potassium Permanganate | Potassium permanganate is the chemical compound KMnO4. The salt is also known as "permanganate of potash". The permanganate ion is a strong oxidising agent. It dissolves in water to give deep purple solutions, evaporation of which gives prismatic purple-black glistening crystals. Potassium permanganate is used as an oxidising agent in diverse chemical reactions in the laboratory and in industry and also serves as a disinfectant as well as finding use in deodorisers. It can be used as a reagent for the synthesis of many different kinds of chemical compounds. In wastewater treatment, it is used to neutralize hydrogen sulfide. In analytical chemistry, a standardized aqueous solution of KMnO4 is sometimes used as an oxidising titrant for redox titrations due to its deep purple colour.NB: Potassium permanganate is listed as a Table I precursor under the United Nations Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances. | Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (Bulk) | Form: Powder/Flake. Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate is an anionic surfactant derived from coconut fatty acid and sustainable palm that are used in many cosmetic and personal care products. In particular, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate is used in the preparation of skin cleansing products such as soaps and washes as well as in shampoos and other hair cleansing products. By helping water to mix with oil and dirt, this surfactant is great at rinsing dirt away from the skin and hair leaving both feeling fresh and clean. Activity Level: Minimum of 85% surfactant solids with up to 15% free fatty acids and some residual water. Material Origin: A reaction between Coconut Fatty Acid and Sodium Isethionate. Sodium Isethinonate is created via a reaction between Sodium Hydroxide (lye), Sodium Bisulfide and Ethylene Oxide.It is made from sustainable palm oil. Applications: Use in skin and hair cleansing preparations. Use Levels: Up to 53% as supplied in rinse off formulations and up to 17% in leave-on. Caution: This ingredient has quite a low water solubility so it is far better placed in a creamy shampoo base rather than clear.
